General Ulysses S. Grant visited us last year. So it’s only fair to give General Robert E. Lee equal time. Join us on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 for “Robert E. Lee Returns to St. Louis” presented by Thomas Lee Jessee. We will meet in at the Affton Elks Lodge, 6333 Heege Road. Doors open at 5:30. Thomas Lee Jessee

Thomas Lee Jessee, a native Virginian and a transplanted Floridian, has been a dedicated reenactor since 1969. He is currently the Commanding General of the Confederate Forces for the annual reenactment of the Battle of Olustee. Thomas is also an active member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. As a longtime student of General Lee, Thomas has portrayed General Lee in various venues throughout the US over the years. In 2015, he was approved by the National Park Service to portray General Robert E. Lee at the 150th Anniversary of Appomattox reenactment in Virginia and for the new Appomattox Visitors Center film shown to the public daily. He recently appeared in the role as General Lee on April 9-10, 2022 at the park.
