Military History Club
America's Great War

Major Frank Tucker, USA (Ret.)

The Military History Club begins its 2018 campaign on Tuesday, January 23 with a look back a century at America’s entry into the Great War, a path that was more complex than many realize.  We welcome Major. Frank Tucker, USA (ret.) who will talk to us about this monumental decision in our nation’s history.  Maj. Tucker has a long history of involvement in military and veterans’ affairs.  He has served in Southeast Asia, in training with American and Allied forces and in Desert Storm.  He has been involved with Missouri Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve as well as funerals for homeless veterans.  He is recipient of many of awards including a Life Time Achievement Award from the Department of Defense and, in November 2017, the MAC’s first Reverend Mel Witt Lifetime Dedication Award.  He is the author of historical articles, including one cited by David McCullough in his Pulitzer Prize winning book “Truman.”

Lunch will be available from 11:30 a.m. in the Veterans Room on the fourth floor downtown.    In the interest of time, our meetings will begin at high noon and end at 1:00 p.m.  Some of our meetings continue beyond 1:00 p.m. depending on the number of questions and the level of interest in the subject at hand.  Everyone should feel free to arrive and depart as your schedules permit.  New members and guests are always welcome. As has been the case in recent months, the fee for non-members is seven dollars.  For reservations, please contact Katie Maurer, Director of Special Events, at 314-539-4402 or  We look forward to having you with us on the 23rd
